Reports to: Child Nutrition Program Manager

 

General Definition of Work: Performs human support work preparing and serving meals, maintaining sanitary conditions, receiving payment for meals, maintaining records, and related work as apparent or assigned. Work is performed under the moderate supervision of the Child Nutrition Program Manager.

 

Essential Functions:

This work requires the frequent exertion of up to 10 pounds of force and occasional exertion of up to 25 pounds of force; work regularly requires standing, walking, speaking or hearing, using hands to finger, handle or feel and reaching with hands and arms, frequently requires tasting or smelling, lifting and repetitive motions and occasionally requires sitting and pushing or pulling; work has standard vision requirements; vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word; hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels; work requires using measuring devices and observing general surroundings and activities; work occasionally requires exposure to outdoor weather conditions, exposure to extreme cold (non-weather) and exposure to extreme heat (non-weather); work is generally in a moderately noisy location (e.g. business office, light traffic).

 

Some knowledge of materials and methods used in preparing and serving foods on a large scale; some knowledge of the use or care of food preparation equipment; skill in the use of standardized kitchen utensils and equipment; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates and students. High school diploma or high school equivalency certificate required.
