TITLE: Registered Behavior Technician
REPORTS TO: Behavior Intervention Support Coordinator
GENERAL DEFINITION OF WORK: To provide support to students experiencing school disruption due to behavioral concerns, and perform all other duties assigned by the Division Superintendent and/or designee. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Develop and maintain assigned schedule in coordination with Behavior Intervention and Support Coordinator. Remain with assigned student as scheduled and assigned by Behavior Intervention and Support Coordinator. Provide direct proximity support to student as determined by planned support schedule. Provide proactive intervention to prevent student behavior that may be disruptive or impedes the learning of the student or others. Provide situationally responsive intervention to redirect student behavior that is disruptive or impedes the learning of the student or others. Maintain confidentiality of their assigned students as well as other students that are observed. Provide technical assistance and professional development to staff, as appropriate. Work closely with staff to develop a continuum of appropriate interventions to address specific behaviors. As appropriate, develop an individualized plan outlining individual target behaviors, intended replacement behaviors and specific strategies being implemented to support student progress toward reaching behavioral goals. As needed, participate with school division staff to conduct Functional Behavioral Assessments and develop Behavior Intervention Plans based on identified individual student needs. Collect data relative to the developed plans. Communicate with school personnel (teachers, school counselor, and principal) on a consistent basis to ensure consistency of plan implementation. Provide written progress reports related to student performance and progress on a weekly and/or monthly basis. Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION and JOB EXPERIENCE: Experience working with youth is required. Ability to quickly develop positive relationships and assist students in need. Experience working with individuals with direct behavioral support needs. Relevant degree or certification preferred.
LICENSE/ENDORSEMENTS: RBT Certification is required. CONTRACT PERIOD: 10 months
